Maturity! This should be self-explanatory because you see the same rule on every single game. Don't be a shithead! It's as simple as that; don't start fights, don't cause drama, don't dwell on things. If you're here to troll we really don't care and we really don't have time for you.
If you do find yourself in such a situation that could and/or has already cause/d drama, talk to a mod. I know that sounds really weird and Oprahish, but we're seriously laid back and will help you guys sort through what you need to.

Activity! Since some people prefer threading over journal entries and others vice-versa, all we ask is that you update your character somehow once every three weeks. You've got a one-week probation after that period, and then we look for a new player. If you're going away drop a line to a mod or in the OOC and your place is safe.
As a note, Sien Finn is a very active game. Though we are also incredibly friendly and love our players (new and old!), we do ask that you be aware of this before applying, as it has a tendency to overwhelm some people, and lead to inactivity. We try to make plot points as accessible as possible, but it is also up to the mun to keep up to date and read their friends lists!

Common sense! No Mary-Sues and the like, please. If you're looking to play something slightly outlandish (things like half-Veelas fit into this category) PM the account and we'll see what we can do.
Don't godmod, blah blah blah.

Communication! We are a very social group and encourage you to get involved! The primary messenger we use is MSN, which can be used by any e-mail so long as you have a Passport. If you're feeling lost and confused about this just ask and we can help. [:

Big stuff! If you plan on killing a character TALK TO A MOD FIRST. Come and say "Hey, I want to kill off Johnny." then give me a reason. I'm not going to say "no" automatically or anything, it's just one of those things mods like to know.

Roleplaying! Can be done in threads or AIM logs, posted with the regular criteria at the top (who, what, where/when, rating). Please put them behind cuts!

Character limit! There is none. No, really. Don't take this as an invitation to make sixty characters, however; instead try to make the best characters you can. Quality over quantity, yeah?

Holds! Character holds can be requested on the taken characters post and will be held for four days. If the character you'd like is already being held for somebody else tell me that you'd like to try out, too, and I'll wait until I receive your application.

U-G-L-Y! You won't be told who to use and who not to use for your played-by, but please use discretion. We aren't big on banned lists, and if the face fits, use it, but obvious boy banders and scene queens are generally frowned upon; they're not very early eighties, are they? (The answer is "No, My Liege, they aren't.") We're not asking you to use somebody from the seventies (but props if you do because a few of us are punk fanatics), but just... just. Just. Just, okay? Good.
On a side note, if you're in need of a quick PB idea or icons, you can ask the mods, or look around at a few icon journals. We're always willing to help out someone in need!

Applying! To apply you have to make your character's journal (please no surplus of _ and x) and comment with your application on the application post using it. Don't be afraid if it only fits into an obscene amount of comments; that's totally fine!

Aren't you a little young for this game? You might notice a couple characters around here that seem to be a bit older or younger than the Lexicon claims. You see, around here, while Jo's word is God, her numbers are closer to human. As in, they err. She's said numerous times that math is not her strong point, so don't be afraid to play around with ages a bit here and there. Nothing too much (this isn't a Time Travel game) and keep things believable, but it's perfectly fine to skew things just a bit.

No, thanks! Right now we have a lot of purebloods that aren't Death Eaters, so unless you're applying for a canon pureblood or a Death Eater you may be asked to change from pure to half- or muggleborn.

Lies! (Not so much a rule as a fact without a proper home.) Our advertisement says that we've been around since December 2005 but our communities have only been active since April 2006. "How is this?" You may ask. You see, before Sien Finn there was a game called Intempesta Nox that began in December of 2005. Eventually it ended and immediately after, Sien Finn, which was the same premise and characters, only three years in the future of the original 1979 plot, began. The players moved over and SF thrived. So, technically, yes, we've only been around since April. Shh!
